Robert Ostrom
Graduate Student
Robert Ostrom joined the Schürch BEESi lab in August 2020 to start a M.S. degree. He has since transitioned to a Ph.D. His research is helping develop honey bees as bioindicators of native bee health. He is particularly interested in how honey bee waggle dances predict native native bee distribution. He is also interested in native bee ecology, furthering the creation of a species checklist for each U.S. state, and bridging the gap between academic research, policymakers, and the general public.
